Do not let extreme views overshadow the sacred meaning of National Day

Nam Bình |

While the whole country is busy preparing to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2, some conflicting opinions have appeared, saying that organizing commemorative activities is wasteful, the cost of organizing is expensive, displaying "excellent" equipment, and the movement of hanging the red flag with a yellow star is a form, a form of showing off... Those opinions are not only lax, unlogical, un obsessional, but even have the color of hatred, jealousy, which is the night when the Fatherland develops strongly.

National anniversaries bring important values

One of the most popular "opposite" arguments is "should we allocate money to organize celebrations to build schools in mountainous areas or hospitals to help the poor". It sounds reasonable, but in reality, this is a boring comparison. The budget for celebration activities, however large, only accounts for a very small part of the total national expenditure. In parallel with organizing important events, the Vietnamese Government still continuously invests hundreds of thousands of billions of VND each year in education, healthcare, hunger eradication and poverty reduction. This proves that the Party and State always care about social security, not "leaving" those fields to accumulate money for the festival.

Moreover, a national celebration like the 80th anniversary of National Day brings invisible but extremely important values. It is an opportunity to educate the younger generation about the heroic history, strengthen solidarity and national pride. This is also an opportunity for Vietnam to demonstrate its strength, peace, stability and position in the international arena. These spiritual values cannot be measured in money and are a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the country.

parade talent: The story of tradition, modernity and autonomy

Some people posted on social media saying: "It is a disgrace when Vietnam puts on the parade old tanks, emitting black smoke, imported since the 1960s". This misconception stems from a lack of understanding the nature of a military parade.

The main purpose of the ceremony was not to be an art of modern weapons to compare with the superpowers. The parade is an opportunity to demonstrate the combined strength of the army, including inheritance and development. In addition to upgraded traditional weapons, the parade also introduced many modern weapons that Vietnam researched, produced or purchased from partners. These include air defense missile, shore missile, and advanced unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). These weapons demonstrate the remarkable progress of the Vietnamese defense industry, meeting the requirements of protecting the country in the new situation.

The presence of both traditional and modern equipment shows the spirit of autonomy and creativity of the Vietnamese army in maintaining and upgrading weapons, as well as the ability to master new technology. The true strength of the Vietnamese army lies in will, fighting spirit and bravery, not just in the most advanced equipment. Remember, in a parade not long ago, Vietnam also performed a team of cowards with brown shirts and tires in the parade, and that was an emotional highlight of the ceremony.

Red flag with yellow star: National pride is not only at the border, islands

The movement of people hanging the national flag in front of their houses, or some people voluntarily painting red flags with yellow stars on the roofs is considered by some to be meaningless and wasteful, they even think that "the national flag must be carried up to the border, islands to mark sovereignty, not to be fully planted in urban areas". This is a misconception when confusing the administrative function and the spiritual meaning of the flag.

The red flag with a yellow star is not only a national symbol at agencies, offices or at the border. It is also a sacred symbol of national pride. People setting up flags to celebrate National Day is not a waste, but an act of great spiritual value. The cost is very small, but the meaning is extremely large: It shows the consensus, response, and sense of responsibility of the people towards the important event of the country.

When millions of red flags with yellow stars fly all over the Fatherland, it is the most vivid image of solidarity and patriotism of the Vietnamese people. The strength of a country lies not only in economy or military, but also in solidarity, in the strong love of each citizen for their country.
