On November 14, according to the Government Office, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Decision No. 1381/QD-TTg on disciplinary action against Mr. Tran Ngoc Cang, former Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province.
According to the decision, Mr. Tran Ngoc Cang, former Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province for the term 2011-2016 (from September 2015), 2016-2021, was disciplined in the form of a Warning due to violations and shortcomings in his work and was subject to Party discipline.
The disciplinary period is calculated from the date of announcement of Decision No. 1749-QD/UBKTTW dated September 26, 2024 of the Central Inspection Commission.
According to the announcement of the Central Inspection Commission on the afternoon of September 11, the Standing Committee of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee for the terms 2010-2015, 2015-2020, and the Party Executive Committee of the Provincial People's Committee for the terms 2011-2016, 2016-2021 violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations.
Lack of responsibility, lax leadership and direction allowed the Provincial People's Committee and many organizations and individuals to seriously violate Party regulations and State laws in organizing the implementation of a number of projects and bid packages carried out by Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company.
Many cadres and party members, including key cadres of Quang Ngai province, have degraded in political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, violated laws on corruption prevention and control, violated regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example.
The Party's inspection agency concluded that the above violations had caused serious consequences, risked loss and waste of large amounts of State money and assets, caused bad public opinion, and reduced the prestige of the Party organization and local government, to the point of requiring disciplinary action.
Personal responsibility belongs to a number of officials, including Mr. Tran Ngoc Cang, former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province.
The Central Inspection Committee decided to impose a disciplinary warning on Mr. Tran Ngoc Cang.
