LAM HỒNG |

Lam Dong is considering investing 1,000 billion VND to build DT 729 road, connecting the province with Binh Thuan.

On April 23, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assigned competent agencies to consider the investment policy for the project to build DT 729 road connecting Lam Dong - Binh Thuan.

Previously, the Lam Dong Provincial Traffic Project Management Board proposed 2 options for the construction and upgrading of DT 729, the section in Don Duong district and Duc Trong district (Lam Dong).

In which, option 1 is to build a road with a 9m wide foundation, a 6m wide road surface, a design speed of 40km/h with a total investment of about 1,000 billion VND.

Option 2 is to build a road with a foundation of 7.5m wide, a road surface of 5.5m wide, a design speed of 40km/h, and a total investment of about VND 868 billion.

According to the Lam Dong Provincial Traffic Project Management Board, the total length of the project route is over 25km. Of which, 10km will be newly built, 15km will be upgraded and expanded.

The Lam Dong Provincial Traffic Project Management Board said that DT 729 route is currently being exploited in sections, with many degraded locations making travel difficult, especially during the rainy season.

After completion, DT 729 route will connect with provincial and national highways in the area, increasing the ability to connect and transport goods between Lam Dong and Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan.

According to Decision No. 759/QD-TTg dated April 14 of the Prime Minister, Lam Dong province will merge with Dak Nong and Binh Thuan provinces, taking the name of Lam Dong province; the administrative - political center is expected to be located in Da Lat.

Lam Dong province after the merger is expected to have the largest natural area in the country with 24,233km2 and a population of 3.3 million people.

According to Mr. Tran Hong Thai - Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, the locality has been assigned by the Politburo and the Secretariat to be a unit to develop a project to merge the three provinces of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, and Dak Nong.

In the period of 2025-2026, Lam Dong will coordinate with relevant agencies to speed up the renovation and upgrading of National Highway 28, 28B connecting Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, Dak Nong.
