On May 9, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang answered an interview about the participation in the 48th ASEAN Summit of Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, emphasizing: "In his first participation in the ASEAN Summit as Prime Minister, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has put forward many proposals and initiatives contributing to ASEAN's common solutions, to consolidate solidarity and enhance ASEAN's self-reliance in responding to the current situation as well as towards the future, ensuring that people enjoy the achievements of ASEAN".

According to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vietnam's proposals prioritize ensuring a peaceful and stable environment to promote and create favorable conditions for ASEAN to continue to develop sustainably, so that ASEAN people have a warm and happy life.

Vietnam's measures are very comprehensive, from peace, security, stability; strengthening intra-bloc solidarity; to strengthening intra-bloc economic and trade connectivity, removing trade barriers within ASEAN; expanding ASEAN's foreign relations; expanding ASEAN's space through connectivity, signing economic agreements with external partners, as well as strengthening cooperation and ASEAN connectivity in ensuring energy security, food security and human security.

Based on the proposals of Vietnam and other countries, ASEAN has adopted the ASEAN Leadership Declaration on Priority Actions to Strengthen Regional Autonomy to Respond to the Consequences of the Middle East situation," he added.

Regarding the main results of the bilateral contacts of the Vietnamese delegation, the Deputy Minister pointed out that Prime Minister Le Minh Hung had meetings, exchanges, and contacts with ASEAN leaders, ASEAN Secretary-General and Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The meetings were brief but very substantive, going straight to important contents, handling problems and shortcomings, thereby promoting substantive cooperation between Vietnam and partners.

Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang said that the two-way contacts of the Prime Minister have 3 notable points: First, establishing personal relations between Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and ASEAN leaders, contributing to strengthening political trust between Vietnam and other countries.

Second, affirming the common determination to strengthen bilateral relations, unifying many practical solutions. Third, partners all value Vietnam's role in ASEAN as well as the international community.

In summary, in just over 30 hours, the Prime Minister had a dense working schedule with about 20 important bilateral and multilateral activities, bringing very substantive and effective results, spreading the message of a dynamic, innovative, integrated and strongly rising Vietnam, an active, responsible member, with many contributions from the ASEAN community, opening up favorable premises and momentum to bring relations between Vietnam and partners to both breadth and depth in the coming time" - Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang said.
