On January 13, the Military Command (CHQS) of Lang Son province held a conference to announce the Minister of National Defense's Decision on reorganizing the Military Command Board at the commune level according to the new model.
According to the decision, the Ministry of National Defense dismissed 65 Commanders of Commune and Ward Military Commands and transferred and appointed 65 regular military officers to hold the position of Commanders of Commune-level Military Commands.
The term of appointment is 5 years, calculated from January 11, 2026.

The number of officers transferred comes from the Provincial Military Command, Division 3, Economic - National Defense Team 338 and Military School of Military Region 1, all of whom are cadres with professional qualifications, political bravery, meeting task requirements in the new situation.
The reorganization of the Commune-level Military Command aims to strengthen the national defense potential of the entire people, improve the quality and combat readiness of the armed forces at the grassroots level, and ensure focused and unified direction in implementing local national defense and military tasks.
Colonel Mai Xuan Phong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, requested the new Commanders of the Commune and Ward Military Commands to quickly approach tasks, complete the handover of organization, personnel, and equipment; firmly grasp the situation in the area, the militia and self-defense forces, reserve forces to mobilize and coordinate with forces to maintain security and order at the grassroots level.
