This morning (May 24), the funeral of former President Tran Duc Luong was solemnly held according to the National Funeral Service Ceremony, at the National Funeral Home No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi.
The visitation ceremony was held simultaneously at Thong Nhat Hall, Ho Chi Minh City and at Hall T50, Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command, No. 142 Le Trung Dinh, Quang Ngai City.

At the National Funeral Home, leaders of the Party and State visited and wrote the condolence book to commemorate former President Tran Duc Luong.


General Secretary To Lam wrote: "Comrade Tran Duc Luong has devoted his entire life to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. In all working positions, he always demonstrated a strong political stance, pure moral qualities, scientific and devoted working methods; had a simple, modest lifestyle, close to comrades, brothers, people... and was respected by comrades, brothers, friends and people.
His passing is a huge loss for our Party, State and people. I would like to respectfully bow in front of you and would like to send my deepest condolences to you and your family."
President Luong Cuong wrote in the condolence book: Comrade Tran Duc Luong is an excellent leader of our Party and State, an example of dedication, wholehearted service to the Fatherland and the people. He devoted his entire life to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. His passing is a great loss for our Party, State and people.
We will always remember his great contributions. Although he has gone far, the good values he left behind will forever be a source of encouragement for generations of cadres, party members and people to continue to steadfastly walk on the path to building a peaceful, independent, unified, democratic, rich and civilized Vietnam.
At this moment of grief, I, together with all compatriots and comrades, would like to express our infinite condolences and express my deepest condolences to all comrades and comrades.

Sending his deepest condolences to comrade Tran Duc Luong's family, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed in the condolence book: "We deeply regret comrade Tran Duc Luong - the outstanding loyal leader of our Party, State and people".
"Comrade Tran Duc Luong, at the age of 88, and at the age of 66, has devoted his entire life to the revolutionary cause of our Party, State and people.
During his activities and leadership of the country, he has always shown that he is a leader with a strategic vision, close to reality, taking effectiveness as the highest measure. His working and dedicated life is a shining example for cadres, soldiers and people to follow.
Learning from comrade Tran Duc Luong, we wish to do our best to contribute to the revolutionary cause of our Party and people, for the cause of a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization - the Prime Minister wrote.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man wrote: I deeply regret comrade Tran Duc Luong, former Politburo member and former President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. He has made great contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
During his participation in the revolution, he was trusted by the Party and the State and assigned many important responsibilities. Regardless of his position, he is always wholeheartedly devoted to serving the revolution, serving the people, and being absolutely loyal to the Party.
Our Party, State and people always appreciate his great contributions. I would like to respect you, comrade. I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family and all the families of venerable comrade Tran Duc Luong".
