On the afternoon of May 4, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Tung chaired a press conference on the expected agenda of the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
Accordingly, the 15th National Assembly will hold a holding session and open on May 5, scheduled to close on June 30.
Responding to the 2013 Constitution amendment at this session, Vice Chairman of the Law and Justice Committee Nguyen Phuong Thuy said that when the Politburo raised this content in Conclusion 127, the National Assembly Party Committee coordinated with the Government Party Committee and relevant agencies to urgently study and propose the contents that needed to amend and supplement the Constitution.
Ms. Thuy said that the research results of the National Assembly Party Committee and agencies have been reported to the Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat.
Recently, the National Assembly Standing Committee submitted a document to delegates and will report to the National Assembly at the opening session on May 5, including the content of amending the Constitution.
The specific amendment content has not been mentioned, but the issues focused on research have been raised in the submission of the National Assembly Standing Committee.
Right at the opening session of the 9th Session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will also propose that the National Assembly consider deciding to establish a Committee to amend and supplement a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution.
After its establishment, this Committee will study and draft a resolution on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Constitution.
This draft Resolution will be published for public opinion. This content is expected to be implemented very soon, as planned from May 6, that is, after the Committee is established, it will announce the draft to collect public opinions and collect opinions within about 1 month.
The Committee then amended and supplemented a number of articles of the Constitution will summarize the opinions of the people and delegates at the meeting to report to the National Assembly to consider the approval of the Resolution on the amendment and supplementation of a number of articles of the Constitution at the latest before June 26 as a legal basis for the National Assembly to consider the laws related to the organizational structure and local authorities.
The public consultation for 1 month was considered "slightly urgent", but according to the Vice Chairman of the Law and Justice Committee, this amendment and supplement is not much in scope, only 8/120 articles in the Constitution, the content is also relatively specific and clear.
"In this public consultation, the Government proposes that in addition to the traditional consultation organization that has been implemented in previous amendments to the Constitution, it can be applied in the form of participating in collecting opinions and collecting opinions through the VNeID app.
Currently, the Government is directing the Ministry of Public Security to actively deploy to collect public opinions through this application. This is also a new point in collecting public opinions" - Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thuy emphasized.
The 15th National Assembly term will be shortened by 3 months
At the last 44 session, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly gave opinions on the amendments of the election law as well as submit it to the National Assembly to consider shortening the term of the XV National Assembly and the People's Council (People's Council) at all levels for the term 2021-2026; Determine the election date.

According to Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thuy, shortening the National Assembly term to meet practical requirements is also an issue that was raised in many previous terms.
