On the morning of November 17, local time, at the Royal Palace in the capital Kuwait, Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al Sabah presided over the welcoming ceremony for Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on an official visit to Kuwait, VNA reported.
This is the first visit of a Vietnamese Prime Minister to Kuwait in 16 years, in the context that the two countries are looking forward to activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2026.
At the afternoons Palace of the Kuwait Royal Family, expressing his appreciation for the visit, Kuwait Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al Sabah went to the parking lot to welcome Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Pleased to meet, Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al Sabah invited Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to move on the red carpet to the position of honor.
When the two Prime Ministers arrived at their positions of honor before the national flags of the two countries, the National anthems of Vietnam and Kuwait were solemnly played. The welcoming ceremony ended with the two sides introducing to each other the ingredients to attend each side's welcoming ceremony.
After nearly 50 years of establishment (January 10, 1976-10, 2026), the Vietnam - Kuwait relationship has developed well. The two countries maintain high-level visits, contacts and bilateral cooperation mechanisms.
Kuwait is currently Vietnam's largest trading and investment partner among the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Two-way trade turnover in 2024 will reach 7.3 billion USD.
Kuwait's largest investment project in Vietnam is Nghi Son Petrochemical Liquidation Complex with a total investment capital of 9 billion USD. Currently, there are a number of cooperation agreements connecting local cooperation such as Ho Chi Minh City and Ahmadi province, Thanh Hoa province and Al Farwaniyh province.
During this visit to Kuwait, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will have talks and meetings with the King, Prime Minister, and Crown Prince of Kuwait; visit economic establishments, work with major economic corporations of Kuwait and give a policy speech at the Kuwait Diplomatic Academy.
Through these activities, the two sides will discuss, agree on directions, measures and determine a more extensive cooperation framework in the coming time; bringing bilateral relations to new heights.
