Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received the Indonesian and Singaporean ambassadors to bid farewell

On the afternoon of October 31, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received the Indonesian and Singaporean Ambassadors to bid farewell at the end of his term of office in Vietnam.

Congratulating Indonesian Ambassador Denny Abdi on his excellent completion of his term in Vietnam and his appointment as General Secretary of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the Ambassador's personal positive contributions to promoting the strong development of bilateral relations in recent years.

The Prime Minister suggested Indonesia facilitate Vietnam's agricultural products to access the Indonesian market; cooperate in developing the Halal industry to soon bring bilateral trade to 18 billion USD; affirmed that Vietnam is ready to negotiate an agreement to strengthen food security cooperation, including rice trade. In particular, the Prime Minister suggested that the two sides promote the effective implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Fisheries Cooperation; hoping that Indonesia would recognize Vietnam's efforts in preventing and combating IUU fishing.

Expressing his admiration for the development process and affection for the country and people of Vietnam, the Indonesian Ambassador thanked the Government, the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam for their coordination, support and facilitation for the Ambassador to successfully fulfill his duties in Vietnam; pledged that in any position, the Ambassador will always support Vietnam - the Ambassador's second homeland and foster the Vietnam - Indonesia relationship.

Receiving Singaporean Ambassador Jaya Ratnam in his farewell, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated and highly appreciated the Ambassador for his outstanding performance in Vietnam over the past 4 years, performing well the role of a bridge, actively and effectively contributing to promoting the relationship between the two countries to be increasingly extensive, substantial and effective on channels and fields in the context of many difficulties and challenges.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Singapore in the spirit of " say what is done". In particular, the Prime Minister proposed to continue developing new-generation VSIP projects with a "4 in 1" model (industrial park, science - technology park, innovation park, commercial - service park and urban area).

The Prime Minister also suggested that the two sides continue to promote ASEAN power grid cooperation, offshore wind power exports from Vietnam to Singapore; strengthen cooperation in science and technology, innovation, digital transformation; cultural cooperation, education, training of high-quality cadres and human resources...

Sharing his good feelings and deep impressions of Vietnam, considering Vietnam as a second home, the Ambassador affirmed that Vietnam has overcome all difficulties in the past 80 years and is always looking forward to a better future.

Affirming that there is still a lot of room for bilateral cooperation, the Ambassador agreed with the Prime Minister's opinions on bilateral relations with more initiatives, especially promoting cooperation in developing new-generation VSIP with the goal of 30 VSIP zones in Vietnam in the near future, as well as other fields such as trade, semiconductor chips, science and technology, cadre training, promoting people-to-people exchanges... Along with that, the two sides can strengthen cooperation to support the third country.
