On April 18, Long An province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Memorial Area, Memorial House of comrade Vo Van Tan, comrade Vo Van Ngan and the restoration and embellishment of the Duc Hoa Intersection National Historical Site.
The project of the memorial area, the souvenir house of Mr. Vo Van Tan, Mr. Vo Van Ngan and restored and embellished the historical monument of Duc Hoa crossroads area with a total investment of over VND 112 billion from the central budget, the provincial budget and the socialization source. The project implementation period is from 2025 to 2026, including building a memorial house comrade Vo Van Tan and Mr. Vo Van Ngan, a gallery, sculpture of comrade Vo Van Tan, building a tomb of comrade Vo Van Ngan; Restoration and embellishment of historical relics of Duc Hoa crossroads area, auxiliary items and equipment procurement. The project aims to preserve the original elements of the monument, avoiding the minimum of the harmful effects of nature and people coming to the monument.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee Pham Tan Hoa said that Duc Hoa Intersection National Historical Site was the place that marked the largest anti-French protest in the South up to that time by 5,000 people in Duc Hoa district on June 4, 1930 under the leadership of the Party. This is also a place associated with the direct leadership role of comrade Vo Van Tan, comrade Vo Van Ngan and comrade Chau Van Liem.
Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the project is the aspiration of the entire Party Committee and the people of the province and affirmed that Long An will preserve, embellish and promote the value of the monument associated with the life and revolutionary career of two typical senior leaders in the monument. Thereby honoring the sacrifices of the blood and great merits of the revolutionary generations in the cause of national independence, contributing to fostering patriotism, ideal education, historical traditions and revolutions for today's and future generations; making this place a place of patriotic and revolutionary traditional education for generations, especially the younger generation; contribute to improving the spiritual life for people of people inside and outside the province, promoting the development of culture and tourism in the locality and the whole country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Huynh Thanh Dat emphasized that Long An is not only a province with an important strategic position, but also has a long history of history - culture and heroism in the fight against foreign invaders. Long An is a gathering place for patriotic movements, whose names of outstanding children have gone down in history; Long An land has become the first breeding ground for red seeds, in which the two brothers Vo Van Tan and Vo Van Ngan are the births of glorious communists.
