"I am very impressed and impressed, with their diligence, efforts, tireless work and with all their heart and respect for the heroic martyrs, who have discovered and searched for a lot of valuable information and documents, including accessing the archive of about 2.6 million pages of documentary photos of the Vietnamese army that were occupied by the US military during the war at Texas Institute of Technology (USA), from which they have analyzed and researched using scientific and logical methods to find information related to martyrs, to the battles...", the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
From the efforts, persistent and tireless labor, over the past 10 years, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang and Mr. Lam Hong Tien, along with a group of veterans and volunteers, have provided information and supported the authorities in successfully searching for a lot of information about martyrs and typical battles.
Among them, it is necessary to mention that in 2017, the collective grave of about 150 martyrs who died on January 31, 1968 when attacking Bien Hoa airport during the Lunar New Year was found. In 2021, the collective grave of 213 martyrs of Regiment 1, Division 9 (US report data) who died on April 26/1969 in the Frontier City US based attack in Long Khanh, Ben Cau, Tay Ninh was found. In 2022, 1 of the 2 graves buried about 50 martyrs of Regiment 22, Division 3, who died in the LZ Bird airstrike in Xuan Son, Hoai An, Binh Dinh on December 26, 66. In 2024, a burial pit was found with about 20 sets of remains quite intact, they were martyrs of Division 7, who died in the attack at FSB Balmoral on May 28, 2019 in Bau Tram, Binh My, Tan Uyen, Binh Duong.
In the 2024-2025 period, they also supported the K72 Binh Phuoc Team to find more than 140 martyrs at Loc Ninh airport who died at the end of October and the beginning of November 1967 when attacking Loc Ninh checkpoint and Loc Ninh exactly 15km. Currently, support for search information here is still being deployed by them.
Along with that, they also help authorities and relatives of martyrs clarify the unit's name from the documents of the occupied Vietnamese army or in the reports of the US military to narrow down the scope of identifying the Vietnamese army unit as well as the identity of martyrs in each battle. They also sent hundreds of information about martyrs and photos of their documents to relatives, thereby helping the martyrs' families determine the areas where the martyrs died and the time of the martyrs' sacrifice.
At the meeting of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh with the two, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Truong Hai Long attended.
