According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on February 22, in Ho Chi Minh City, General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam had a high-level meeting with President of the Cambodian People's Party, President of the House of Councilors of the Kingdom of Cambodia Hun Sen and General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith.
Also attending the meeting were Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, and Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone.
At the meeting, the three heads of the three Parties discussed the situation in the world and the region in recent times, shared the situation of each Party and each country in the past year, evaluated the results and proposed directions for cooperation between the three Parties and the three countries in the coming time.
The three leaders congratulated the great achievements that the three Parties and three countries have achieved, especially the guaranteed national security, positive economic growth, stable and increasingly improved people's lives. The three sides emphasized the close, close and strategic relationship between the three countries, emphasizing that the stability, security and development of this country is also the stability, security and development of the two remaining countries, while affirming the consistent policy of the three Parties and three countries to always give top priority to the traditional friendship between the three Parties, three countries and three peoples of Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos.

The three leaders expressed their delight that the cooperative relationship between the three countries has achieved many remarkable achievements and has been increasingly consolidated and developed, in which political relations continue to be the foundation, with the tripartite relationship playing an orientational role for the tripartite relationship; defense - security cooperation has been effectively promoted; economic, trade, investment, cultural, educational, scientific - technical cooperation has changed positively.
In the context of the turbulent and unpredictable situation in the region and the world, the three sides agreed to continue to deepen, comprehensively and further expand the relationship between the three Parties and the three countries, tighten political trust and relations between senior leaders; commit to maintaining and promoting the tradition of solidarity and closeness between the three countries, considering this an invaluable asset, an inevitable objective law for ensuring a peaceful, secure and developing environment for each country; agreed to maintain and further strengthen propaganda and education work so that generations of people in the three countries, especially the young generation, clearly understand and always remember this tradition of solidarity and closeness.
The three sides also agreed to strengthen the pillar of defense and security cooperation to ensure effective response to traditional and non-traditional security challenges; increase information exchange, consultation, close coordination, support, protect each other's legitimate interests, and jointly respond to common challenges.
The three leaders emphasized the need to continue to create breakthroughs in economic cooperation, promote connectivity between the three economies, especially connectivity of transportation, trade, and tourism; promote cultural, educational, and scientific-technical cooperation on the basis of promoting the potential and strengths of each country.
The three leaders agreed to promote the effectiveness of existing mechanisms and forms of cooperation, continue to discuss and find new methods for increasingly high-quality, effective and substantial cooperation, for the benefit of each country and the common interests of the people of the three countries, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
On this occasion, President Hun Sen and General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith sent their congratulations to General Secretary To Lam and leaders of the Party, State and all Vietnamese people on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1990 - May 19, 2025).
