Talking to the press, Member of the Party Central Committee, General Secretary of the National Assembly, Chairman of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Tung said that the mission has contributed strongly to strengthening political reliability and strengthening friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the two countries and two peoples. The leaders of the two countries highly appreciated the increasing position of Vietnam in the region and around the world, affirming that Vietnam considered Vietnam as a leading important partner in Southeast Asia, a typical model in the process of international integration and desire to further promote relations with Vietnam.
The trip also witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the Armenia National Assembly and the Uzbekistan National Assembly, as well as some documents and cooperation agreements in other fields. Thereby contributing to strengthening the legal basis to promote cooperation between Vietnam and the two countries on all channels and fields, as well as the relationship between legislative agencies in the coming time.
The National Assembly Chairman and the leaders of the two countries agreed on measures to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation, agreed to strengthen transportation connectivity, promote multi-modal transportation to bring goods to each other's and regional markets. In particular, the sides emphasized the connection of railways from Vietnam to Central Asia, the Caucus and further along the East-West and North-South corridors.
The National Assembly Chairman and the leaders of Armenia and Uzbekistan agreed to complete the legal framework, creating favorable momentum for businesses of the two countries to invest and do business, especially in areas where both sides have strengths such as healthcare, textiles, energy - oil and gas, agricultural processing, aquaculture.
According to General Secretary Le Quang Tung, this is the first working trip of the head of the Vietnamese National Assembly in 2025 and to attend the IPU 150 General Assembly. This has sent a very clear message about Vietnam's strong support for multilateralism in general, multilateral cooperation with the parliament and the role of IPU in particular.
This is even more meaningful in the context of international instability, declining political commitments and resources for multilateral goals, especially for the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and support for developing countries.
The National Assembly Chairman delivered an important speech at the plenary session of the IPU 150 General Assembly, with specific proposals, calling on parliamentaries of countries to accompany, strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation, promote the role of IPU and member parliamentaries in coordinating common efforts to address current challenges, in order to successfully implement the set goals, especially the goals of social development.
IPU leaders and countries highly appreciated the message of the Head of the Vietnamese Delegation in line with the theme of the General Assembly, "Actions of the Parliament for development and social justice".
