Mongolia welcomes General Secretary and President To Lam with the highest ceremony

Mongolia solemnly held a ceremony to welcome General Secretary and President To Lam with the highest protocol reserved for heads of state.

According to VNA, at 2:00 p.m. on September 30 (local time), or 1:00 p.m. (Hanoi time), at Sukhbaatar Square, the capital city of Ulan Bator, the welcoming ceremony for General Secretary and President To Lam on a state visit to Mongolia from September 30 to October 1, 2024, was solemnly held according to the highest protocol reserved for heads of state.

Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh welcomed General Secretary and President To Lam. Mongolian children presented flowers to General Secretary and President To Lam.

Then, Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh invited General Secretary and President To Lam to step up to the podium. The military band played the Vietnamese and Mongolian national anthems.

Next, President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh invited General Secretary and President To Lam to review the honor guard.

The welcoming ceremony was attended by Vietnamese and Mongolian officials; along with the Ambassador and Head of the Foreign Representative Office in Mongolia.

At the end of the welcoming ceremony, Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh privately received General Secretary and President To Lam in the honor tent, according to traditional Mongolian rituals.

General Secretary and President To Lam signed the "Guest of Honor" book, with the following content recorded in the "Guest of Honor" book at the Mongolian State Palace:

“Vietnam - Mongolia has gone through a 70-year journey with important achievements in development cooperation.

Today, the President of Mongolia and the General Secretary and President of Vietnam jointly announced the elevation of bilateral relations to the Vietnam-Mongolia Comprehensive Partnership, which will open a new period of more substantive, effective, comprehensive and long-term development cooperation for the prosperous and happy lives of the people of the two countries.

Wishing Mongolia prosperity and Mongolian people happiness.

Wishing the friendship between the two countries and two peoples to last forever".

After the reception, General Secretary and President To Lam and Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh held talks and witnessed the signing of cooperation documents.
