On the afternoon of June 24, the National Assembly passed a Resolution on the National Assembly's supervision program for 2026.
According to the monitoring program, at the first session, the 16th National Assembly will consider reporting on the results of the election of 16th National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; considering the report on the results of monitoring the settlement of voters' petitions sent to the 10th session of the 15th National Assembly.
The National Assembly reviews the Government's reports on:
- Evaluate and supplement the results of the implementation of the Socio-Economic Development Plan and the State budget in 2025, the implementation of the Socio-Economic Development Plan and the State budget in the first months of 2026;
- Regarding state budget in 2024; state budget settlement in 2024.
- Practicing thrift and combating waste in 2025.
- The implementation of the national target on gender equality in 2025.
- Implementation of Resolution No. 172/2024/QH15 on the investment policy for the North-South high-speed railway project.
- Implementation of Resolution No. 187/2025/QH15 on investment policy for the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway construction investment project.
- Implementation of Resolution No. 188/2025/QH15 on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies, especially to develop the urban railway network system in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City...
At the 2nd Session, the 16th National Assembly reviewed the Government's reports on the results of the implementation of the Socio-Economic Development Plan and the State Budget in 2026, the expected Socio-Economic Development Plan and the State Budget estimate in 2027; the central budget allocation plan for 2027.
- Corruption prevention and control; crime prevention and control and law violations; enforcement of judgments; handling complaints and denunciations.
- The implementation of social insurance policies and regimes, management and use of the Social Insurance Fund in 2025; the management and use of the Health Insurance Fund in 2025.
- The implementation of Resolution No. 66/2013/QH13 of the National Assembly and the plan to implement the Ho Chi Minh Road project in the next phase.
- Implementation of the National Assembly's resolutions on Long Thanh International Airport.
- Implementation of Resolution No. 56/2022/QH15 on investment policy for the Ring Road 4 Construction Investment Project - Hanoi Capital Region;
- Implementation of Resolution No. 57/2022/QH15 on the investment policy for the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 Construction Investment Project.
The National Assembly also reviewed reports from the Government, the Supreme People's Court, and the Supreme People's Procuracy on the implementation of the Constitution, laws, oratory, and resolutions of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee.
Consider the report on the results of monitoring the settlement of voters' petitions sent to the First Session of the 16th National Assembly; the results of receiving citizens, handling petitions and supervising the settlement of complaints and denunciations sent by citizens to the National Assembly.
Consider the 2026 work reports of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Ethnic Council, National Assembly Committees, the Government, the Supreme People's Court, and the Supreme People's Procuracy.
