On December 3, in Hanoi, President Luong Cuong - Head of the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform and the Central working delegation had a working session with the Supreme People's Procuracy (SPP), according to VNA.
After listening to the opinions of representatives of central departments, ministries and branches, and representatives of the Supreme People's Procuracy, the President commended and highly appreciated the results of the work achieved by the procuracy sector in recent times, contributing significantly to maintaining political stability, ensuring social order and safety, protecting socialist legality, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the State, organizations and citizens, effectively serving the task of socio-economic development and firmly protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
Basically agreeing with the direction and tasks in the coming time, President Luong Cuong requested the prosecution sector to focus on further improving the quality of practicing the right to prosecute and supervise judicial activities; continue to improve the quality of litigation in court, identifying this as a breakthrough in the spirit of Resolution No. 27-NQ/TW on continuing to build and perfect the socialist rule-of-law state of Vietnam in the new period.
President Luong Cuong emphasized the need to continue to promote the work of building clean and strong Party organizations in the prosecution sector; strengthen the Party's leadership over prosecution activities, ensure the maintenance of the principle of democratic centralism, and promote the leadership role of Party committees, Party organizations, authorities and unions in each prosecution agency.
Regarding the issue of streamlining the apparatus, the President noted that this is an extremely important task. The Procuracy sector needs to well implement the Party's policy in the direction of arranging a streamlined, strong, efficient, effective and efficient apparatus; linking innovation in the apparatus organization with innovation in leadership methods; ensuring the structure of the staff, civil servants and public employees with sufficient qualities and capacity, reasonable staffing, standardizing job titles and positions in a scientific and practical manner; clearly defining the content of decentralization in the management of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers.
The President emphasized that in implementing the organizational apparatus, it is necessary to focus on training, education, and building a team of prosecutors with revolutionary ethics, courage, experience, high combativeness, and enthusiasm; high professionalism, and good expertise, especially in the context of international integration and the development of science and technology.
Regarding international cooperation activities, the President said that it is necessary to proactively and actively learn from the world's best experiences and apply them to Vietnam's specific conditions; continue to improve the effectiveness of international cooperation activities in crime prevention and control; and effectively perform the role of the focal agency for mutual legal assistance in criminal matters.
Previously, President Luong Cuong offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and visited the Traditional Room of the Supreme People's Procuracy.
