Accordingly, at the headquarters of the People's Council and People's Committee of Ba Dinh district, General Secretary To Lam and National Assembly deputies met with voters and reported the results of the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
Also attending the conference were Politburo member, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hanoi National Assembly Delegation Bui Thi Minh Hoai; Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh.
At the beginning of the meeting, voters listened to Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Duyet - Commander of the Hanoi Capital Command report on the results of the 8th Session and delegate Nguyen Phi Thuong - Director of the Hanoi Department of Transport - report on the response to voters' petitions at the previous meeting.
At the 8th Session, the 15th National Assembly passed 18 laws and 21 resolutions; gave initial opinions on 10 draft laws.
The National Assembly assigned the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Government, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, and relevant agencies to promptly implement the laws and resolutions passed by the 15th National Assembly at the 8th Session, ensuring close connection between law-making and law enforcement, fairness, strictness, consistency, timeliness, effectiveness, and efficiency; study, explain, and absorb the opinions of National Assembly deputies to perfect the draft laws that have been commented on by the National Assembly; promptly prepare the contents to be submitted to the National Assembly at the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly, ensuring quality and progress.
At the same time, the Government directed relevant ministries and branches to continue studying comprehensive amendments to the Law on Accounting, the Law on State Budget, the Law on Management and Use of Public Assets, and the Law on Tax Administration to report to the National Assembly at the 9th Session according to the conclusions of the Politburo, the Resolutions of the National Assembly and Plan No. 81/KH-UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee.
The National Assembly highly appreciated the direction, administration and drastic and effective implementation of tasks and solutions of the Government, Prime Minister, ministries, branches and localities; commended the efforts of the business community and people of all walks of life who have basically completed and exceeded many targets and tasks of socio-economic development and the state budget in 2024.
The National Assembly requests the Government, Prime Minister, Supreme People's Court, Supreme People's Procuracy, State Audit, ministries, branches, central agencies and local authorities to thoroughly grasp the requirements for innovation in the development and promulgation of legal documents.
The National Assembly basically agreed with the Report synthesizing opinions and recommendations of voters and people sent to the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly, the Report on the results of monitoring the settlement and response to voters' recommendations sent to the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly, and the Report on the results of receiving citizens, handling petitions and supervising the settlement of citizens' complaints and denunciations sent to the National Assembly in 2024; highly appreciated the efforts of the Government, the Prime Minister, ministries, branches, central agencies and local authorities in settling and responding to voters' recommendations; settling petitions and denunciations sent by National Assembly agencies in 2024.
