On February 6 in Hanoi, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission - visited and worked with the National Political Publishing House Truth (Publishing House).
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia highly appreciated the activities of the Publishing House in the past year.
Many books and publications of the publisher have high theoretical and practical value, thereby spreading and helping international friends better understand the country and Vietnam's path to socialism.
Emphasizing the 2025 task groups, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia clearly stated the requirement to accelerate, break through, reach the finish line, and strive to successfully implement the socio-economic development tasks and goals of 2025 and the entire term.
To achieve this goal, we must have knowledge, effort, determination, and arouse patriotism and cultural values of the Vietnamese people; arouse self-confidence, pride, and national self-esteem. At the same time, we must research, study, and innovate. This is an issue raised in the work of propaganda orientation, ideological and cultural orientation.
"Although society has developed a lot, readers and the public will still seek out books. Therefore, we should never turn our backs on books, we should never take reading and learning about books lightly," Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia noted.
Referring to a very important task of 2025, which is the Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 14th National Party Congress, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission requested the Publishing House and relevant agencies to coordinate and publish valuable books that provide theoretical and practical issues, the core of the Party's innovation policy, to serve well the Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 14th National Party Congress and summarize 40 years of national innovation.
2025 is a year with many important historical events of the country, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that the Publishing House must lead and go ahead in these areas, especially the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country; the book series commemorating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country, there needs to be massive book series but must go faster. The book series must arouse patriotism, national pride, and aspiration for national development.
Reporting at the meeting, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Trong Lam - Director and Editor-in-Chief of the Publishing House - said that in 2024, the Publishing House published 648 books (equal to 111.7% compared to 2023), including many important books serving the political tasks of the Party and State.
The Publishing House has expanded cooperation, signed and implemented joint programs with many ministries, departments, branches, provincial and municipal Party Committees, academies and universities.
Scientific research work has been promoted, chaired and coordinated the organization of many high-quality national and international scientific conferences and scientific seminars.
