The torchpoint path for the Vietnamese revolutionary press

TRẦN VƯƠNG |

In the history of the Vietnamese revolution, President Ho Chi Minh was not only a genius leader, the founder and cultivator of the Communist Party of Vietnam, but also a great teacher of the Vietnamese revolutionary press. His instructions on journalism are not only a guideline for many generations of revolutionary journalists, but also a beacon for building a professional, humane and modern Vietnamese revolutionary press.

Special milestone

More than a century ago, in 1911, the patriotic young man Nguyen Tat Thanh set out to find a way to save water on the Amiran Latuso To Revin ship. The ship took Nguyen Tat Thanh from Nha Rong wharf to all lands and continents to find a way to save the country and people. On that journey, Man has worked in many professions, including a very special profession: Journalism.

In 22, in France, he co-founded the Colonial Union and the newspaper People of the sufferings (Le Paria), aiming to denounce the brutal nature of the French colonial regime, making the Communist International and the world's peoples know Vietnam and support the Vietnamese people in the struggle for self-reliance.

On June 21, 1925, Thanh Nien Newspaper - the mouthpiece of the Vietnam Youth Revolutionary Association - published its first issue, marking the birth of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press. Leaders Nguyen Ai Quoc used newspapers as a tool to propagate the revolutionary path of national liberation, to gather and enlighten the masses, ideologically and organizationally prepare for the birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Do Chi Nghia - full-time member of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Society, the birth of the Youth newspaper on June 21, 1925, not only a historic milestone, but also demonstrated the organizational capacity and masterful journalism ability of leader Nguyen Ai Quoc. This is a milestone marking the transition from a patriotic movement to a communist movement of domestic revolutionary organizations, under the leadership of leader Nguyen Ai Quoc.

The influence of the newspapers founded by Uncle Ho not only has a direct significance in directing the revolutionary struggle of the nation, but also creates a strong source for the flourishing revolutionary press. Under the terrorist control of the enemy, a series of newspapers of Party organizations were born such as: Tranh, Co Vong Tinh, Do, Song Cach Nhan, Lao Dong... Many newspapers have crossed the enemy's steel net to Phuong Dong School in Moscow, where Party leaders such as Tran Phu, Le Hong Phong, Ha Huy Tap... are tirelessly studying communist theory and practicing the abilities of professional revolutionaries, creating deep confidence in the revolutionary fire in the country.

The Great Teacher

During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh paid special attention to the revolutionary journalism career, who pointed out: " Jury is a front", " Pen is a sharp weapon, articles are a revolutionary newspaper". Therefore, press officers are also revolutionary soldiers. Pencils and paper are their sharp weapons.

In his "A letter to Huynh Thuc Khang newspaper writing class" in 2020, President Ho Chi Minh stated: "The subject of the newspaper is the majority of the people. A newspaper that is not popular with the majority of the people is not worthy of being a newspaper".

At the 3rd Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association (1962), Uncle Ho once again affirmed: "The mission of the press is to serve the people, serve the revolution". All revolutionary tasks are the tasks of the press, that task covers the entire revolution, serving all aspects of social life, economy, security - defense, and international relations.

President Ho Chi Minh also advised journalists to ask themselves questions before holding a pen: "What to write for?", "What to write for? Who should I write for? How to write?". The person who answered these questions in detail was: "We must write briefly, clearly, and briefly. But the abbreviation is not a cot, a cot, but a cot, a cot... Writing must be practical, saying with a book, saying with evidence, that is, saying where, how, when, how it was born, how it developed, what the results were?

He also advised: When you finish writing, ask your brothers to review and edit the steps. Don't be self-conscious, let your song be " memorable". The reminder must resolutely resist the writing style of "the sea giang", "using a myriad of strange words", or "writing like a code, like three flowers, writing both long and empty, like showing off words, like to use Chinese characters, and using foreign characters".

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Do Chi Nghia, President Ho Chi Minh's journalism career is a great heritage, creating an important foundation for the development of revolutionary journalism, contributing to enriching national culture. Journalism is to make a revolution, but with the passion and enthusiasm of a communist heart combined with natural talent and cultural depth, President Ho Chi Minh has become an international-class journalist, a model teacher of the Vietnamese revolutionary press.

President Ho Chi Minh's viewpoint on journalism and his dynamic, professional journalism style, close to his life is a valuable piece of luggage for today's generations of journalists to learn from, to become more and more steadfast and sharp on the front line of the Party's ideological and cultural work, meeting the expectations of the people.

Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Duy Quat - former Deputy Head of the Central Committee for ideology and Culture (now the Central Committee for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization) emphasized that under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, the journey that revolutionary press has gone through is associated with the brilliant milestones of the history of the national revolution.

That is: From the time of mobilizing the founding of the Party, to training cadres, preparing the theoretical, political, ideological basis and organizing the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam on February 3, 1930 to encourage the people to create the 1930 - 1931, the 1935-39 democratic movement towards the August 1945 General Uprising to gain power. Next is the sharp fighting weapons on the political and ideological front, together with the entire Party, people and army, going into the national's godly resistance wars to defeat French colonialism and American imperialism, converting the country into a common, the whole country goes to socialism. The press has greatly contributed to the implementation of two strategic tasks: building and defending the Fatherland, comprehensively promoting the cause of innovation, all for the goal of a rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization.
