At the 9th extraordinary session, on February 18, the National Assembly passed resolutions on the organizational structure of the Government, the structure of the number of Government members and personnel work to approve the appointment of ministers.
Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung was approved by the National Assembly to be appointed as Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.
The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions was formed on the basis of the Ethnic Committee, receiving additional functions, tasks and organizational structure of the state apparatus on religion from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs merged with the Ministry of Home Affairs to form the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung is a member of the Party Central Committee of the 10th, 11th, 12th; and a National Assembly delegate of the 14th and 15th terms; Master of Public Administration Management, Bachelor of Law.
Mr. Dung worked for a long time at the Nam Ha Provincial Youth Union and the Central Youth Union, then worked as Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee. He has held the position of Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs since 2016, before being approved to be appointed as Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions on February 18, 2025.

From 4. 2016 to present: Member of the 12th Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; National Assembly Delegate of the 14th and 15th terms. At the 13th National Congress of the Party, he was re-elected to the Central Party Executive Committee.
January 24, 2025: The Politburo appoints to join the Government Party Executive Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term.
