The Central Executive Committee agreed to let Mr. Duong Van An resign from his position as member of the 13th Party Central Executive Committee.

On the afternoon of January 23, 2025, the 13th Party Central Committee Conference opened in Hanoi.

According to the announcement from the Central Party Office, the Central Party Executive Committee worked at the Hall. The Central Committee carried out a number of contents on personnel work.

At the working session, the Central Executive Committee agreed to let Mr. Duong Van An, member of the Party Central Committee, former Secretary of Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Committee, former Secretary of Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee, cease to hold the position of member of the 13th Party Central Executive Committee.

Previously, as Lao Dong reported, on January 10, 2025, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, the Politburo and the Secretariat reviewed and disciplined party members with violations and shortcomings.

According to the announcement of the Party Central Office, Mr. Duong Van An, during his tenure as Secretary of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee (from October 2020 to March 2024), violated Party regulations and State laws in performing assigned duties and tasks, in preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity; violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example; caused serious consequences, great damage to the state budget, bad public opinion, and reduced the prestige of the Party organization and local government.

Based on the content, nature, level, consequences, and causes of violations by the above-mentioned Party members, according to the Party's regulations on disciplining violating Party members, the Politburo decided to issue a disciplinary warning to Mr. Duong Van An.

On January 15, the National Assembly Standing Committee met to consider the decision to dismiss Mr. Duong Van An from his duties as a deputy of the 15th National Assembly.

Accordingly, based on the Constitution, the Law on Organization of the National Assembly and relevant legal provisions; based on the opinions of competent agencies; based on the Report of the Delegation Work Committee; considering the application for resignation from the duties of a National Assembly deputy dated January 10, 2025 of Mr. Duong Van An, the National Assembly Standing Committee discussed, voted by secret ballot to approve and promulgate Resolution No. 1364/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the dismissal from the duties of a National Assembly deputy of the XV term for Mr. Duong Van An of the National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Phuc province.
