Relieve Mr. Duong Van An from his duties as National Assembly delegate

On January 15, the National Assembly Standing Committee met to consider the decision to dismiss Mr. Duong Van An from his duties as a deputy of the 15th National Assembly.

Accordingly, based on the Constitution, the Law on Organization of the National Assembly and relevant legal provisions; based on the opinions of competent agencies; based on the Report of the Delegation Work Committee; considering the application for resignation from the duties of a National Assembly deputy dated January 10, 2025 of Mr. Duong Van An, the National Assembly Standing Committee discussed, voted by secret ballot to approve and promulgate Resolution No. 1364/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the dismissal from the duties of a National Assembly deputy of the XV term for Mr. Duong Van An of the National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Phuc province.

Previously, from January 6-8, 2025, in Hanoi, the Central Inspection Commission held its 53rd meeting. Mr. Tran Cam Tu - Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission - chaired the meeting.

At this Session, the Central Inspection Commission (CIC) reviewed and concluded a number of contents.

According to the Central Inspection Commission, during his tenure as Secretary of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Duong Van An violated Party regulations and State laws in performing his assigned duties and tasks; in preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity; violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example, causing serious consequences, reducing the prestige of the Party organization and local government, to the point of having to take disciplinary action.

On January 10, 2025, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, the Politburo and the Secretariat reviewed and disciplined party members with violations and shortcomings.

According to the announcement of the Party Central Office, Mr. Duong Van An, during his tenure as Secretary of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee (from October 2020 to March 2024), violated Party regulations and State laws in performing assigned duties and tasks, in preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity; violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example; caused serious consequences, great damage to the state budget, bad public opinion, and reduced the prestige of the Party organization and local government.

Based on the content, nature, level, consequences, and causes of violations by the above-mentioned Party members, according to the Party's regulations on disciplining violating Party members, the Politburo decided to issue a disciplinary warning to Mr. Duong Van An.
