On the morning of April 29, the People's Council (HĐND) of Can Tho City held the Second Session (specialized session). The session focused on considering and deciding on many important issues for the overall development of Can Tho City.
Regarding personnel work, at this session, 78/79 delegates of the Can Tho City People's Council present unanimously elected Mr. Le Cong Ly, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Management Board of Can Tho Export Processing and Industrial Zones, as Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee for the 2026-2031 term.
Thus, currently, Can Tho City People's Committee for the 2026-2031 term has 6 Vice Chairmen: Mr. and Mrs. Nguyen Van Khoi, Nguyen Van Hoa, Vuong Quoc Nam, Tran Chi Hung, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep and Le Cong Ly.
Mr. Le Cong Ly (born in 1977, native of former Hau Giang, now Can Tho City). Mr. Ly has professional qualifications: University of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, Master of Business Administration; advanced political theory.
Mr. Ly has worked for a long time in the old Hau Giang province and has held many positions.
It is known that before the merger of Hau Giang province, Soc Trang province and Can Tho city on July 1, 2025, Mr. Ly was a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee.
After the merger, he was appointed to hold the position of Head of the Management Board of Can Tho Export Processing and Industrial Zones.
