At the first session, the People's Council (HĐND) of Dong Thap province, term XI, 2026 - 2031, Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong - Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.
On March 30, at the Ap Bac Hall - Provincial Conference Center, the opening ceremony of the first session of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Council of the 11th term, term 2026 - 2031. After listening to the personnel introduction reports, the delegates proceeded to elect the titles of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council and Heads of Boards of the 11th Provincial People's Council.
As a result, Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the 11th Provincial People's Council with absolute confidence votes, reaching 100% of the delegates present in favor.
Also with high confidence votes, Mr. Pham Van Chuan - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the 10th Provincial People's Council and Mr. Tran Thanh Nguyen - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the 10th Provincial People's Council were continuously elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the 11th Provincial People's Council, term 2026 - 2031. Along with that, at the meeting, delegates elected Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Nhung to hold the position of Head of the Legal Affairs Committee of the 11th Provincial People's Council; Mr. To Hoang Khuong to hold the position of Head of the Economic - Budget Committee of the 11th Provincial People's Council; Ms. Doan Duy Thuy Ngan to hold the position of Head of the Culture - Society Committee of the 11th Provincial People's Council.
Speaking to receive the assignment, Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong - Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Thap province, term XI - emphasized that in this term, the Standing Committee and Boards of the Provincial People's Council and all delegates of the Provincial People's Council will focus on strongly innovating the organization and operation, improving the quality and efficiency of performing functions and tasks according to the provisions of law. To successfully complete the assigned tasks, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council hopes to continue to receive the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee; close coordination of agencies and units; especially the supervision, companionship and support of voters and people throughout the province. That is the source of encouragement, and also the responsibility for the Provincial People's Council to constantly strive to improve the quality and efficiency of operations.
Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong was born in 1967, from Tra Vinh province, now Vinh Long province. At the 1st Congress of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030, Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong was appointed Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee.
