At the first session of the 14th Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council, term 2026–2031, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021–2026 term, was continued to be elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2026–2031 term.
The meeting focused on consolidating the local government apparatus. This is an important step to ensure stable and effective operation in the new period. The re-election shows the trust of the Provincial People's Council in Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang.
He was born in 1971, from Hai Phong city. Professional qualifications are Doctor of Economics, senior political theory. Before holding the position of Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, he held many positions in Hai Phong, the Central Party Office and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
During his work, he held positions such as Deputy Director of the Department of Trade, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Hai Phong city; Deputy Director of the Economic Department - Office of the Party Central Committee; Director, Secretary of the Politburo Member, Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee; Standing Vice Chairman of Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee.
After that, he was transferred and appointed as Deputy Minister of Science and Technology. Next, he was transferred to Quang Ngai, holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and was elected Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021–2026 term.
Also at the meeting, the Provincial People's Council elected Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2026–2031 term. Personnel including Ms. Y Ngoc and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Sam, Tran Phuoc Hien, Nguyen Cong Hoang, Do Tam Hien continued to be trusted to be elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the new term.
The meeting also elected 16 members of the 14th Provincial People's Committee, completing the organizational structure of the Provincial People's Committee in the new term.
Speaking to receive the assignment, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang affirmed that this is a great honor, and also a responsibility to the Party Committee, People's Council and People. He emphasized the requirement for innovation, solidarity, and discipline in management, especially in the context of transforming the two-level local government model.
In his position as Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, he committed to inheriting the achievements of previous terms, proactively solutions, mobilizing resources, creating breakthroughs in socio-economic development. The goal is to build Quang Ngai to develop quickly and sustainably, improving people's lives.
