Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan re-elected Chairman of Hue City People's Committee

HUE - Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan was elected to hold the position of Chairman of Hue City People's Committee with 100% of delegates present in favor.

On March 31, within the framework of the first session of the 9th City People's Council, term 2026 - 2031, the Hue City People's Council elected key positions, ensuring that the new term local government apparatus officially went into operation from April 1, 2026.

With 100% of the delegates present in favor, Mr. Pham Duc Tien - Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the 9th City People's Council, term 2026 - 2031.

Mr. Pham Duc Tien (born January 23, 1976, from Hung Yen province) holds a master's degree in politics, a bachelor's degree in economics, and a bachelor's degree in politics. Growing up from the Central Inspection Committee, he held many important positions before being assigned to hold the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of Hue City Party Committee from October 2024.

According to the election results, comrade Pham Duc Tien was elected as a delegate of the City People's Council in constituency No. 4.

Also at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, Member of the Standing Committee (UVTV) of the City Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Council, term VIII, 2021 - 2026; Luong Bao Toan, Provincial Party Committee Member, Deputy Head of the City Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee, were elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the City People's Council, term IX, 2026 - 2031.

The City People's Council also passed a resolution confirming the results of the election of the Chairman and Vice Chairmen of the City People's Council.

On the same day, at the first session of the 9th Hue City People's Council, term 2026 - 2031, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan was elected to hold the position of Chairman of Hue City People's Committee for the term 2026 - 2031 with 100% of the delegates present in favor.

The City People's Council also elected Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee including: Hoang Hai Minh, Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Ha Van Tuan and Nguyen Van Manh.

The City People's Council elected 14 members of the City People's Committee, including: Nguyen Thanh Tuan - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Director of the City Police; Phan Thang - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Commander of the City Military Command; La Phuc Thanh - Director of the Department of Finance; Vo Le Nhat - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Phu Xuan Ward (expected to be transferred to the Department of Construction to appoint Director of the Department of Construction); Tran Thi Hoai Tram - Director of the Department of Tourism; Nguyen Tan - Director of the Department of Education and Training; Nguyen Xuan Son - Director of the Department of Science and Technology; Dang Huu Phuc - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade; Phan Thanh Hai - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports; Tran Kiem Hao - Director of the Department of Health; Nguyen Van Hung - Director of the Department of Justice; Hoang Viet Cuong - Chief of Office of the City People's Committee; Nguyen Quang Huy - Chief Inspector of the City; Nguyen Van Ph

Along with that, the City People's Council elected people's jurors of the City People's Court and People's Courts of the regions.

Speaking to receive the assignment, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan said that he and the collective of the City People's Committee will maintain solidarity, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operations, and serve the people better.

In the new term, Hue City People's Committee focuses on implementing socio-economic development goals for the period 2026–2030; promoting digital transformation, administrative reform, and building a green, smart, and culturally rich city.

2026 is identified as a pivotal year, the city strives to maintain socio-economic stability, towards high growth, while ensuring social security and improving people's lives.

Previously, the City People's Council approved a resolution to establish committees of the City People's Council of the IX term, including: Economic - Budget Committee, Culture - Society Committee, Legal Committee and Urban Committee.

At the same time, the City People's Council elected the heads of the People's Council committees. Accordingly, Mr. Tran Gia Cong was elected to hold the position of Head of the Economic - Budget Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh held the position of Head of the Culture - Society Committee; Mr. Le Van Tue held the position of Head of the Legal Committee; Mr. Nguyen Dai Vien held the position of Head of the Urban Committee.
