On the afternoon of March 30, the People's Council of Khanh Hoa province, term VIII, 2026–2031, held the first meeting to consolidate the leadership apparatus and elect key positions.
At the meeting, the Provincial Election Commission reported on the results of the election of provincial People's Council deputies for the 2026–2031 term, and at the same time approved the Resolution confirming the qualifications of 67 provincial People's Council deputies of the VIII term and proceeded to award certificates to the elected deputies.
With 100% of the votes in favor, the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council elected Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee to hold the position of Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee for the 2026–2031 term.
Along with that, the Provincial People's Council also elected Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee including Mr. Nguyen Long Bien, Tran Hoa Nam, Trinh Minh Hoang, Le Huyen and Nguyen Thanh Ha; and elected 14 members of the Provincial People's Committee for the new term.
Speaking to receive the assignment, the new Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Viet Hung emphasized that this is not only an executive position but also a direct responsibility to the People for the development results of the locality.
He believes that the key point in the coming period is not in issuing more policies, but in the way of organizing implementation so that the Resolutions truly go into life.
The head of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee clearly stated the key orientations in management.
First of all, implement the resolution according to the "6 clear" principle: clear person, clear task, clear time, clear responsibility, clear product, clear authority; overcome the situation where there is work but the person responsible is unclear, there is policy but there are no specific results.
Second, focus on removing major "bottlenecks" of the province, especially slow-progress projects, land problems, site clearance and cumbersome investment procedures. Contents under the province's authority will be resolved definitively; issues beyond authority will be proactively proposed to the Central Government.
Third, promote the main growth drivers that have been identified such as industry, energy, tourism – services and urban – construction. At the same time, proactively implement new strategic tasks, including large-scale energy projects such as renewable energy and nuclear power, associated with infrastructure preparation, resources and resettlement work.
Fourth, innovate operating methods in a practical and effective direction; minimize unnecessary procedures, shorten work processing time, improve transparency and accountability; strongly shift from "management" to "management", from "document processing" to "problem solving".
The new Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also emphasized the requirement to build an effective and efficient government apparatus, clearly define personal responsibilities, and take work results as a measure. At the same time, resolutely overcome the situation of avoidance and pushing, creating conditions for officials to dare to think, dare to do, and dare to take responsibility for the common good.
According to Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung, after the merger, Khanh Hoa entered a new stage of development with a larger scale, higher requirements and more complex problems. This requires reorganizing the development space, growth momentum and especially the operating method. If the way of doing things is not changed, it will be difficult to achieve the set goals.
He affirmed that he will work with the collective of the Provincial People's Committee in the spirit of solidarity, unity, respect for principles, promote democracy, listen to the opinions of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and the People.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung, born in 1978, native of Bat Trang commune, Hanoi; is a bachelor of economics, master of business administration.
During his work, he held the positions of: Deputy General Director of HUD Corporation (2013–2015), Chief of Office of the Ministry of Construction (2015–2018), Chairman of the Member Council of HUD Corporation (2018–2024).
On September 11, 2024, he was appointed by the Prime Minister to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Construction.
On March 27, 2026, the Central Organization Committee announced the Secretariat's decision on the transfer and appointment of Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung - Deputy Minister of Construction to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee for the term 2025–2030.
On March 30, 2026, at the 1st session of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council, delegates voted and passed a Resolution confirming the election of Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung to hold the position of Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee.
