At the thematic session (27) of the 16th City People's Council, term 2021-2026, held on the afternoon of November 13, with 100% of delegates present in agreement, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luu, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Director of the Department of Finance, was elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luu, born in 1969, from Hanoi. Mr. Luu has a Master's degree in Public Administration Management; Bachelor's degree in Economics; Bachelor's degree in Party Building and State Administration; Senior Political Theory.
The new Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Luu has worked in Hanoi for many years and held many positions: Chairman of the Hanoi Party Committee's Inspection Committee, Chairman of Thanh Xuan District People's Committee (old), Secretary of Thanh Xuan District Party Committee (old); Director of Hanoi Department of Finance.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luu is a well-trained cadre, matured in the military environment, who has worked for 18 years in Thanh Xuan district (old) and was one of two officials of the city who previously held the position of Secretary and Chairman of the People's Committee at the district, town and city levels.
Also at the thematic session (27th session) of the Hanoi People's Council for the 2021-2026 term, delegates voted and approved a resolution confirming the results of the dismissal of Mr. Le Hong Son (reurecting to retire) and Mr. Nguyen Trong Dong from the position of Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
Previously, on October 16, 2025, at the first Conference of the Hanoi Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Trong Dong was elected Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, term XVIII, 2025-2030.
