On the morning of January 20, the 19th Session (special session) of the People's Council of Can Tho City, term X, 2021 - 2026, took place at the Can Tho City Party Committee. At the session, the delegates of the City People's Council elected Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee - to hold the position of Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee.
Speaking on receiving the assignment, Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen thanked the delegates of the Can Tho City People's Council for their trust and election him to hold the position of Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee, term 2021 - 2026.
Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen said that this is a great honor and also a great responsibility before the Party Committee, government and people of Can Tho City.
"Deeply recognizing this noble task, I myself must strive to overcome all difficulties and challenges, quickly grasp the local situation, listen to the people's thoughts and aspirations, constantly learn, practice and be dedicated and devoted to the development of the city", said the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City.
Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen stated that with the newly assigned responsibility, he pledged to inherit the valuable achievements and experiences of the previous generation; at the same time, promote the spirit of solidarity, creativity and innovation in direction and management; strictly comply with the leadership of the City Party Committee and the City People's Council; closely follow the Resolution of the Central Committee, the Resolution of the 14th Can Tho City Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, the Resolutions, programs and plans of the City Party Committee and the City People's Council, to effectively implement the socio-economic development goals, ensure national defense and security, and improve the material and spiritual life of the people.
In particular, he will work with the People's Council and People's Committee of Can Tho City to properly implement legal regulations on nature and tasks, maintain discipline and administrative discipline, promote the spirit of collective solidarity, successfully complete assigned tasks, contributing to building Can Tho City to develop sustainably and comprehensively in all fields, becoming an important core of the Mekong Delta.
