At more than 10:00 p.m. on February 20, the reporter recorded at Lane 7 Giang Van Minh (Ba Dinh District, Hanoi), the additive under the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station metro tunnel continued to spray strongly.
Accordingly, in many locations, such as along the drainage culverts in the alley, drainage culverts in the yard of houses... the yellow foam, accompanied by smoke continues to rise from the ground, quickly spreading throughout the alley, with an unpleasant smell.

At the scene, people were on standby to prevent the substance from flooding into the house. The investor's person was also present, taking tarpaulins to cover the locations where the additive was sprayed.
"We can't sleep tonight, we just have to park our vehicles in neighboring alleys to prevent the substance from spreading into our homes," said Ms. Le Thu - a resident in alley 7 Giang Van Minh.
Previously, the Hanoi Urban Railway Project Management Board (MRB) informed that at around 4:00 p.m. on February 20, during the digging process of the TBM 1 machine, the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station metro tunnel addition began to spray on the ground, in the area of lane 7 Giang Van Minh.
The initial cause was determined to be that there may be underground wells or old drainage culverts that have created a path for tunnel borers to flow up to the ground (these old wells and culverts are no longer in use).
MRB is closely coordinating with relevant units to accurately assess the cause and deploy technical measures to prevent similar incidents in the next phase.
