On the morning of January 20, the 19th Session (special session) of the People's Council of Can Tho City, term X, 2021 - 2026, took place at the Can Tho City Party Committee.
At the 19th Session, the positions of Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City and Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Can Tho City, term 2021-2026, were elected.
With the result of 50/51 votes, accounting for more than 98%, Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee - was elected by the City People's Council to hold the position of Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee.
With the result of 51/51 votes, reaching 100%, Mr. Tran Quoc Vu was elected Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Can Tho City.
Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen (born in 1969, from Thanh Hoa province), has a Master's degree in Economics and a senior degree in political theory. He has held the following positions: Chief of Office of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee; Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of Chau Thanh District People's Committee (Hau Giang Province); Permanent Vice Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee.
On February 10, the Secretariat decided that Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee - would cease participating in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term; transfer and appoint him to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term.
The decision to transfer personnel was presented to Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen on February 10 at the Can Tho City Party Committee.
