On the morning of June 30, in Lam Dong province, a ceremony was held to announce the Resolution and decisions of the Central and local governments on merging provincial and commune-level administrative units, ending the operation of district-level administrative units, establishing a party organization, appointing Party committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of the province and communes, wards and special zones.
Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, leaders of central ministries, departments, leaders of Lam Dong, Dak Nong, and Binh Thuan provinces attended.
At the ceremony, representatives of the Central working delegation announced 9 Resolutions and decisions of the central government on merging administrative units of Lam Dong, Dak Nong, Binh Thuan provinces into the new Lam Dong province and personnel work. The decisions take effect from July 1, 2025.
Mr. Y Thanh Ha Nie K'nam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee (old) was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the new Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the new Lam Dong Province XV.
The 7 new Deputy Secretaries of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term appointed include: Mr. Nguyen Hoai Anh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Deputy Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee: Tran Hong Thai (and Chairman of the People's Council of the new Lam Dong province), Ho Van Muoi (and Chairman of the People's Committee of Lam Dong province for the new term 2021 - 2026), Luu Van Trung, Pham Thi Phuc, Dang Hong Sy, Bui Thang.
At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh - Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister of the Government presented the Resolutions and Decisions of the central government and presented flowers to congratulate the new Lam Dong Provincial Party Secretary and Deputy Secretaries.
To recognize and mark the important milestone of the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups of the new Lam Dong province, the members of the Executive Committee of the new Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee were introduced.
The establishment of the new Lam Dong province on the basis of merging the three provinces of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, Dak Nong has set unprecedented tasks and challenges but also opened up great opportunities to restructure the local government system in the direction of streamlining, efficiency and modernity.
