From the night of June 29 to the morning of June 30, in front of the headquarters of Duc Manh Joint Stock Company (Hai Chau Ward, Da Nang City), there were continuous jostling and pushing incidents as hundreds of people gathered waiting to submit their applications to buy apartments in the An Trung 2 social housing project.
According to records, although the company only started receiving documents from 8:00 a.m. on June 30, since the previous evening, people have come to line up to reserve their seats. The later it got, the more crowded it became, many people brought water to drink and even food to wait all night.
Mr. D.Q.T (residing in Son Tra ward) shared: "I arrived at 9pm and there were nearly a hundred people lining up in front of me. Everyone brought their own documents, afraid that it would not be their turn if they did not leave early.
By the morning of June 30, the area in front of the company gate was in chaos as people continued to flock, jostle, and push to win positions. Many cases of arguing and making a fuss. A resident suffered minor injuries from a collision while lining up.
The company's functional forces and security teams must be present continuously to intervene, direct traffic and remind people to maintain order. However, the tense atmosphere continued because of the pressure from too many people. Many people waited for hours in a state of anxiety and fatigue.

Mr. N.T.H (residing in Lien Chieu District) said: "I arrived at 7am, it seemed early but unexpectedly the line of people stretched from the company gate to Ong Ich Khiem Street. I stood for more than an hour and still could not get my number to submit the application. There are more people behind than before.
The An Trung 2 social housing project is invested by a joint venture of Duc Manh Joint Stock Company and 579 Investment & Construction Joint Stock Company (DMC - 579). The project consists of 633 apartments, divided into two blocks: block A has 288 apartments and block B has 345 apartments.
The area of the apartments ranges from 50 to 66m2, the average selling price is about 16 million VND/m2 - a price considered easy to breathe in the context of the Da Nang real estate market lacking housing suitable for average income.
After many hours of chaos, at around 8am, the situation in the company's headquarters area was gradually controlled. However, there were still hundreds of people outside who continued to queue waiting for their turn. Many people are tired, but still persistently stay because this is a rare opportunity to own an apartment at a suitable price.
