The decision to appoint Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh - Director of Can Tho University to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Science and Technology was announced on the afternoon of September 7, 2026.
Mr. Tran Trung Tinh, 53 years old, from Tay Ninh. From May 25, 2026, he was appointed Director of Can Tho University.
The Ministry of Science and Technology manages the fields of scientific research, technology development, innovation, intellectual property, standards - measurement - quality; and is also in charge of digital infrastructure including post, telecommunications, radio frequency, digital technology industry, artificial intelligence and national digital transformation.
The current Minister of Science and Technology is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan. 5 Deputy Ministers include Bui Hoang Phuong, Le Xuan Dinh, Pham Duc Long, Hoang Minh and Tran Trung Tinh.
