The above information was released by Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Dang Van Dung at a press conference announcing the results of the Standing Committee meeting of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negative Phenomena (Steering Committee) held on the afternoon of September 17.
According to the announcement of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, since the 30th Meeting of the Steering Committee (June 18, 2026) to date, the Government Party Committee, ministries, branches, and localities have actively reviewed and handled slow-progress projects, prolonged backlogs, and redundant houses and land after arranging the apparatus according to the direction of the Steering Committee.
In which, the Government Party Committee directed the promulgation of Resolution No. 31/2026/NQ-CP dated June 24, 2026 on specific mechanisms and policies to accelerate the progress of handling and exploiting redundant houses and land after arranging and streamlining the organizational structure of the political system and arranging administrative units.
The Government Party Committee directed ministries, branches, and localities to review and update on the system 751 an additional 407 slow-progressing and prolonged projects (increasing the total number to 4,899 projects); complete and completely handle an additional 1,333 projects (increasing the total number of completed projects to date to 2,684 projects, accounting for 54.8%).
In addition, localities also focused on reviewing and handling 4,860 projects and works with difficulties and obstacles (not covered by the 751 system update criteria); of which 3,156 projects and works have been completed.
For redundant houses and land after arranging the apparatus, ministries, branches, and localities have completed handling, put into operation, and used an additional 3,418 facilities (increasing the total number of completed facilities to date to 11,573 facilities).
The Standing Committee of the Steering Committee requests that from now until the end of 2026, focus on implementing key tasks, in which the Government Party Committee directs the completion of review, classification, and specific handling plans for 962 projects that have not been reviewed and classified; directs the completion of handling for 9,662 redundant houses and land facilities that have not yet had handling plans or have not been put into operation and use; proactively handles according to authority for 1,330 projects that have handling plans so that projects can be put into operation soon (Q4/2026).
