On February 5, in Lam Dong province, Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Vice President - led a working delegation of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the National Election Council to inspect the reality and work with the Lam Dong Provincial Election Committee on the preparation for the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels, term 2026 - 2031.
At the working session, Mr. Luu Van Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial Election Commission reported on the implementation of tasks related to election work in the province.
According to reports, up to now, Lam Dong province has completed the establishment of 124 commune-level Election Committees. Localities in the province have also established 2,301 polling stations and issued decisions to establish constituency teams corresponding to each polling station according to the correct procedures.
Regarding electoral units, Lam Dong province has 6 electoral units for National Assembly deputies; 38 electoral units for provincial-level People's Council deputies and 1,004 electoral units for commune-level People's Council deputies.
After the second consultation conference, the total number of candidates for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies of Lam Dong province is 175 people. Of which, the number of deputies running for National Assembly deputies of the province is 25 people; the number of deputies running for provincial People's Council deputies is 150 people.
Regarding the work of receiving applications, the whole province has received 25 applications for election to the 16th National Assembly; 153 applications for election to the Provincial People's Council and 5,679 applications for election to the Commune-level People's Council.
Concluding the working session, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan highly appreciated Lam Dong province in preparing for the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels, term 2026 - 2031. At the same time, the Vice President requested the locality to continue to focus highly on election work in the coming time.
The Vice President emphasized that Lam Dong needs to set a goal to organize a comprehensively successful election day in terms of personnel, ensuring sufficient number, correct structure, correct standards and quality of delegates. The organization work must be carried out strictly, on schedule, and surely to the extent possible, fully complying with the procedures and guidelines of the National Election Council.
Also on the same morning, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and the working delegation came to inspect the reality at the Election Team and Voting Area No. 16, located at the headquarters of Residential Group 14, Phan Thiet ward.
Here, the Vice President visited and encouraged the members of the election team, and at the same time requested to focus on careful preparation of facilities, solutions to arising situations, ensuring that the election process takes place tightly, in accordance with regulations and successfully.
