On the morning of April 29, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh and the Central working delegation, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province visited the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial Area to offer incense and commemorate heroic martyrs.
At the ceremony, the working delegation solemnly placed wreaths at the foot of the monument "Those Who Rest at the Horizon" and observed a minute of silence to commemorate the officers and soldiers of the Navy who bravely sacrificed for the sacred sea and island sovereignty of the Fatherland.

Delegates also offered incense at the memorial tomb of 64 officers and soldiers, and visited the underground museum of the Memorial Area to recall historical milestones of the process of building and protecting Vietnam's sea and island sovereignty in Truong Sa.

In the cause of national liberation and defense of the Fatherland, millions of outstanding children of the Vietnamese nation bravely sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the country.
38 years ago, March 14, 1988, 64 officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Navy bravely sacrificed themselves while on duty to protect the national flag and sea and island sovereignty.
The sacrifice of the soldiers has become a sacred symbol of patriotism, indomitable spirit and the will to protect the sea and island sovereignty of the Vietnamese nation.
Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial Area (operating since 2017) built by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on an area of over 20,000m2 with a total investment of nearly 130 billion VND.
Initially, the entire amount of money for building the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial Area was supported by people, officials, workers, and laborers across the country through the Labor Golden Heart Fund from the Hoang Sa, Truong Sa Affection Program.
After phase 1, Khanh Hoa province will continue to start construction of the Truong Sa Museum project.
This project is built on a land area of 1.71ha, adjacent to the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial Area (Cam Lam district). The cost of design and construction competition is sponsored by private enterprises.
