On April 1, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh and leaders of Phu Yen province visited and presented gifts to the Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Ho Dac Thanh, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Phu Yen province (April 1, 1975 - April 1, 2025).
Lieutenant Colonel Ho Dac Thanh was the former captain of Ship 41, who commanded the Ship 12 times without numbers to transport weapons to support the South in the resistance war against the US.
Hearing him recount his journey across the sea, bringing weapons and goods to the battlefield safely, contributing to the miracle of "Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea", Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh was moved and appreciated the great contributions of his father's generations.

Phu Yen used to be one of the important locations on the Ho Chi Minh Sea Route, where the Central and Area V chose to welcome unnumbered ships to supply weapons and goods to support the Southern battlefield. From November 1964 to February 1965, there were 4 ships docking at Vung Ro port, of which 3 were successful, transporting about 200 tons of weapons and goods for the resistance war.
This timely support has helped the army and people of Phu Yen win many important victories such as the Go Thi Thung Victory in 1966, General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of Mau Than 1968, the historic victory of Road 5, together with the main army to liberate Phu Yen province on April 1, 1975, contributing to the great spring victory, completely liberating the South and unifying the country.
