The largest Tet market ever
By noon on January 10, more than 200 booths at the Viet Tiep Friendship Cultural Palace in Hai Phong had been set up, starting to welcome the first booths to decorate and display products, preparing to welcome workers from Hai Phong City and the whole country to visit and shop.
Present in Hai Phong from early morning on January 10, Mr. Lo Van Thiet - Head of Tu Chau Cooperative, Son La province received booth number 80 to prepare to sell products that are specialties of Son La mountainous region.
“This is the second year that Tu Chau Cooperative has had a booth participating in the Trade Union Tet Market in Hai Phong City. Coming to this year's Tet market, we have 10 items, with thousands of products, ready to serve the needs of people in the next 7 days. All items have clear origins, with 10% preferential prices. Hopefully this year, the national Tet market will attract more workers and people to shop,” said Mr. Lo Van Thiet.
This year, Hai Phong City was honored to be selected by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to host the 2025 Trade Union Tet Market program at the national level. The Tet Market opened on the evening of January 11, operating for 7 days from January 11 to 17. The Tet Market attracted more than 125 enterprises, units, and business households from more than 30 provinces and cities nationwide, of which 9 enterprises are partners of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. The units displayed at more than 200 booths with a variety of products from food, services, household appliances, and cuisine at a minimum discount of 10% or more compared to market prices.
Ensuring the quality of the Trade Union Tet market
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Chairman of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation - said: The preparation of facilities as well as security and order, fire prevention and fighting at the trade union Tet market has been carefully prepared. Because this year's Tet market is longer than previous years, the city's Labor Federation also reminded traders to prepare enough goods to avoid the situation where the market is not finished yet and the goods are sold out. Along with that, the units are required to commit to ensuring the quality of goods sold at the Tet market as well as the quantity of promotional products for workers. The Hai Phong City Labor Federation presented 2,500 shopping vouchers (each voucher worth 200,000 VND) to union members and workers in difficult circumstances who came to visit and shop at the market.
“The Trade Union Tet Market will be a prominent activity, clearly affirming the role of the Trade Union organization in taking care of workers' lives during Tet. At the same time, it will encourage the spirit of "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", contributing to building a healthy shopping environment, promoting the consumption of domestically produced goods" - said the leader of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation.
Along with the exhibition and shopping activities, the Tet market has many meaningful sideline activities such as free health check-ups and cancer screenings from 8am to 5pm on January 12-15, lucky draws, Spring Welcome Dance art program, "Sing well, sing well" exchange... On January 16 alone, within the framework of the Tet market, the Hai Phong City Labor Federation organized the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng" for the city's union members and workers, giving thousands of gifts, subsidies, and Tet bus tickets to workers in difficult circumstances.
