Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Head of Steering Committee No. 3 of the Government Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term, chaired a working session to give opinions on the preparation for the Congress of the Northern Food Corporation (Vinafood 1) on the afternoon of June 24.
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha said that the political report of the Party Committee needs to concretize the major viewpoints and orientations in the documents of the 13th National Congress and the report of the Government Party Committee, clearly demonstrating the role and mission of state-owned enterprises in the new development stage.
The report must have a clear and feasible action orientation, associated with the practice of innovating the governance model, improving productivity and efficiency, and making a practical contribution to the goal of ensuring national food security.
Regarding personnel work, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested continuing to carefully review, ensuring a reasonable structure, inheritance and innovation.
Human resources must have professional capacity, understand production and business practices, be able to use foreign languages, understand international markets, and have an innovative mindset, especially in key areas such as science and technology, trade, and digital transformation.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, state-owned enterprises cannot develop if they only stop at performing political tasks. It is necessary to clearly define the role of leading the value chain - from production, processing, export to supporting farmers.
To do so, we must innovate governance, improve productivity, invest in high-quality brands and human resources - the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
Regarding the salt industry, the Deputy Prime Minister noted the need for sustainable development policies for salt farmers; building a Vietnamese salt brand associated with tourism, culture, developing coastal areas and preserving traditional crafts.
At the same time, take advantage of new trends such as circular economy, green transformation, developing organic agriculture, exploiting the value of agricultural by-products to increase the value of the industry.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Vinafood 1 Party Committee and relevant agencies to seriously absorb comments, complete documents, and personnel plans, in the spirit of intelligence, responsibility, innovation, and openness.
