On the morning of March 19, together with other localities across the country, the People's Committee of An Giang province organized the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 3 schools in Ba Chuc, Vinh Dieu, and Vinh Xuong communes according to the policy of investing in building schools for border communes.
Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra attended the groundbreaking ceremony at Ba Chuc Primary and Secondary Boarding School (THCS) located in Ba Chuc commune, An Giang province.
Phase 2, An Giang has 6 boarding primary and secondary schools implemented in the mainland border communes: Ba Chuc, Vinh Dieu, Vinh Xuong, An Phu, Phu Huu and Nhon Hoi.
Investment preparation work has achieved initial results. The investor is actively coordinating with localities to complete procedures for adjusting construction planning and preparing detailed plans; surveying geology and terrain. Propaganda and mobilization for site clearance in localities have received high consensus from people in the project area.

Ba Chuc Primary and Secondary Boarding School is located in Ba Chuc commune, expected to have a scale of nearly 4.5 hectares, 45 classrooms for about 1,500 students, 350 boarding students. Vinh Dieu Primary and Secondary Boarding School is based on the current status of Vinh Phu Secondary School, expected to have a scale of more than 2.6 hectares, with 30 classrooms to accommodate more than 1,000 students. Vinh Xuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School is expected to have a scale of more than 4.7 hectares, with 40 classrooms, meeting the learning needs of more than 1,400 students, boarding for about 300 students.
Previously, on November 9, 2025, the province started construction: Giang Thanh Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Gang Thanh commune); Khanh An Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Khanh Binh commune) and Vinh Gia Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Vinh Gia commune). The province requires construction progress to be completed before August 30 to be in time for the new school year opening ceremony.
