Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung signed Decision No. 1261/QD-TTg on consolidating members of the Central Inter-sectoral Steering Committee for Food Safety (Steering Committee).
According to the decision, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra is the Head of the Steering Committee.
3 Deputy Heads of the Steering Committee include: Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan (Standing Deputy Head); Minister of Agriculture and Environment Trinh Viet Hung; Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung.
The members of the Steering Committee include: Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen (Standing Member); Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Van Long; Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc; Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh; Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Vo Van Hung; Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Truong Thanh Hoai; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Phan Tam; Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Cao Xuan Thao; Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television Do Duc Hoang; Deputy General Director of Voice of Vietnam Pham Manh Hung; Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Thu Hien; Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Nguyen Xuan Dinh.
This Decision takes effect from July 11, 2026 and replaces Article 4 of Decision No. 920/QD-TTg dated August 28, 2024 and Decision No. 1950/QD-TTg dated September 9, 2025 of the Prime Minister on consolidating members of the Central Inter-sectoral Steering Committee on Food Safety.
According to Decision No. 920/QD-TTg dated August 28, 2024, the Central Inter-sectoral Steering Committee for Food Safety has the task of researching, consulting, recommending, and proposing to the Prime Minister directions and solutions to solve important inter-sectoral issues on food safety.
Promptly propose and recommend to the Prime Minister measures to handle cases where food safety assurance work has complex developments, affecting people's health on a large scale.
At the same time, helping the Prime Minister direct and coordinate between ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government-attached agencies and relevant agencies and organizations in solving important inter-sectoral issues on food safety.
