On the afternoon of September 8, a Government delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc worked with Hoa Binh province on overcoming damage caused by storm No. 3.
Surveying landslide sites, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc suggested that Hoa Binh province continue to survey locations at high risk of landslides to take appropriate measures to ensure people's safety.
Afterwards, the Deputy Prime Minister and leaders of Hoa Binh visited and expressed condolences to the family of Mr. Xa Van Som (born in 1973) in Cham hamlet, Tan Minh commune, Da Bac district.
This is a family of 4 people who died in the landslide that morning, including Ms. Xa Thi Xay (born in 1972); Ms. Xa Thi Xuyen (born in 1992); Ha Van Minh (born in 2018) and Ha Thi Giem (born in 2018). Mr. Som himself escaped death but was also seriously injured.
During the visit and encouragement, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc asked the leaders of Hoa Binh province to take measures to support the family to soon stabilize their lives.
After the survey, the Deputy Prime Minister worked with Hoa Binh province on overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 and post-storm floods.
According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hoa Binh province, due to the impact of storm No. 3, the province has had moderate to heavy rain, with the largest rainfall measured by automatic rain gauge stations reaching 450.8mm.
Landslides occurred on roads in the districts, causing local traffic jams. In particular, a landslide from the hill buried a house, killing 4 people and injuring 1 person.
Currently, provincial road 433 has many landslides causing traffic jams. The People's Committee of Da Bac district has directed the implementation of the "4 on-site" motto, mobilizing police forces, commune militia... and people to rescue victims.
The People's Committee of Da Bac district directed functional forces and communes and towns to stretch ropes, put up warning signs at landslide points, and warning signs of underground overflow in dangerous areas on the road; continue to monitor and inspect the landslide developments.
