Speaking at the visit and gift-giving ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha said that Ba Ria - Vung Tau, together with the whole country, overcame the difficult year of 2024, with spectacular economic growth results.
While the average economic growth of the whole country reached about 7.09%, Ba Ria - Vung Tau has strived to reach a double-digit rate of 11.72%, the highest in the Southeast region and ranked 3rd in the country.
In addition, along with economic growth, Ba Ria - Vung Tau has devoted a large amount of resources to social security, especially target programs: New rural construction; sustainable poverty reduction; and socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas... contributing to improving the happiness index for the people. Although the economy still has many difficulties, the happiness index in 2024 has increased by 11 places, ranking 54/143 countries in the world.
Ba Ria - Vung Tau has had many activities to take good care of the lives of people and workers in difficult circumstances, such as organizing Tet reunion programs, Trade Union Tet markets for more than 135,000 workers; supporting health insurance for more than 47,000 people; supporting tuition fees for students...
These are great efforts of the locality, and have done very well with diverse care models. But it should be noted that there are still different differences in the lives of workers, some places are good but others are only at a relative level, or very low.
"I hope that we must care for every home, every situation, not leaving anyone behind and implementing it extensively" - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized.
