On October 16, according to the Ministry of National Defense's Electronic Information Portal, a meeting with the Defense Ministers of the three countries of Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia took place on the afternoon of October 15 in Vientiane, Laos.
According to Senior Lieutenant General Khamliang Outhakaysone, Central Committee member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Ministers of National Defense, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia are three countries with common borders, sharing common destiny, the people of the three countries have a tradition of helping each other, standing shoulder to shoulder in fighting against common enemy. For that reason, the armies of the three countries must be the core force in building, maintaining, protecting and developing the precious friendship and solidarity between the three countries.
General Tea seiha - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Cambodia reaffirmed his strong commitment to strengthening traditional friendship and good neighborliness that brings common benefits to the people of the three countries; highly appreciated the effective cooperation between the two armies on the basis of mutual respect and trust, contributing to maintaining peace, stability and prosperity in the border area as well as contributing to building the ASEAN Community.
For his part, General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense emphasized that Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia are close neighbors. practice has proven that strengthening solidarity and cohesion between the three countries and the three armies is an objective necessity, an vital rule and a leading important factor in ensuring peace, stability and development of each country.
Vietnam always gives top priority to continuously strengthening and consolidating the relationship of trust and attachment with Cambodia and Laos; always appreciates the warm and wholehearted support and assistance of the two countries in the past struggle for national liberation and national reunification, as well as in the current cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

To continue to deepen defense cooperation between the three countries in the coming time, the Defense Ministers of the three countries agreed on the following practical cooperation contents:
First, continue to strengthen and tighten the solidarity and close relationship between the three countries and the three armies; steadfastly strive not to let any hostile forces use the territory of one country to harm the interests of the other; maintain the annual meeting and meetings between the three Ministers and leaders of the three Ministries of National Defense and the leaders of the three armies, and at the same time increase the exchange of situations and effective advice with the three countries' senior leaders on military and defense.
Second, continue to strengthen cooperation in border management and protection, contributing to building peaceful borders, cooperation and sustainable development; regularly sharing information and situations, promptly detecting and coordinating to effectively handle issues arising from the grassroots.
Third, continue to improve the coordination between the three armies in responding to non-traditional security challenges, through sharing experiences, organizing drills such as disease prevention and control, rescue, and fight against cross-border crimes.
Fourth, it is necessary to pay more attention to propagating and educating the Army and people, especially the younger generation, about the historical truth, the meaning and importance of the solidarity of the three countries in the fate of each country.
Fifth, continue to coordinate the common stance at international and regional multilateral forums and mechanisms, especially within ASEAN such as ADMM and ADMM+; maintain ASEAN's solidarity and central role in international issues.
