From the decentralized provincial capital, in May 2025, the People's Committee of the old Ia Pa district (now Ia Pa commune, Gia Lai) invested in repairing Hung Vuong and Quang Trung streets with a total cost of 2.2 billion VND, each route 1.1 billion VND. These two projects are invested by the old Ia Pa District Investment and Construction Project Management Board (now the Ia Pa Area Investment and Construction Project Management Board); Quang Minh Tuan Company Limited is the construction unit and Quang Minh Phat Joint Stock Company is the supervision consultant.
Investing in repairing these two routes is of great significance, contributing to improving the quality of transport infrastructure, enhancing traffic capacity and gradually synchronizing infrastructure, creating a premise to promote local socio-economic development.
The project will be constructed in 90 days, completed and put into use from mid-August 2025. However, after only a short time of operation, the two routes have appeared damaged, peeling and sunken, affecting people's travel and causing public outrage and skepticism about the quality of the project.
Upset by this situation, Mr. Tran Van Gi (born in 22, residing in Gia Lai province) has filed a complaint with the authorities. In the petition, Mr. Gi accused Mr. P.C.S - Director of the old Ia Pa District Construction Investment Project Management Board - of showing signs of lax management and lack of responsibility in the project implementation process, leading to construction that did not comply with the approved design documents, cutting and showing signs of "impetization" of the project.
"The project has just been constructed, after acceptance, it has had to be dug up and repaired many times and is currently seriously degraded. Requesting competent authorities to inspect the situation and strictly handle individuals and organizations that violate. When checking, I suggest being witnessed to point out the specific locations" - Mr. Gi suggested.
Also reflecting, Mr. Nguyen Toan (name changed), born in 1996, residing in Ia Pa commune, said that only about half a month after completion, the road surface had peeled in many places, with gravel and pebbles, posing a potential danger to vehicles passing by. Mr. Toan said that the construction process showed signs of recklessness, only digging the damaged part, reusing old materials, mixing more asphalt and road rolling, so it was difficult to ensure long-term quality.
Through the reporter's investigation, up to now, the People's Committee of Ia Pa commune has not yet received the handover of the two repair projects for Quang Trung and Hung Vuong streets. The reason is said to be that these routes have just been accepted and paid for, but have been damaged and seriously degraded, causing public outrage.
In response to the people's reflection, Mr. Le Tien Manh - Chairman of Ia Pa Commune People's Committee - said that the locality had invited people with complaints to work and established an Inspection Team to verify the content of the complaint, so the two projects had not been temporarily received. The delegation has inspected the project and related documents, and is currently in the process of drafting a conclusion. Some of the contents that people have reflected are well-founded.
