Speaking at the opening of the Congress, General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense - said that the 11th Emulation Congress for the Whole Army's Victory took place at a very important time. The entire army with the highest spirit, preparing to organize the 12th Army Party Congress, competes to achieve the highest achievement to celebrate the 14th National Party Congress.
"This is an opportunity for us to summarize the Patriotic Emulation movement in the Army and Militia, commend achievements, feats and new factors that have been formed and developing in the Emulation and Decision movement over the past 5 years, and at the same time determine the direction, goals and measures to promote the Emulation and Decision movement and effectively conduct reward work in the next 5 years" - General Phan Van Giang affirmed.
General Trinh Van Quyet - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army - presented a summary report on the results of the Emulation and Victory movement.
The report shows that the Emulation and Victory movement is taking place enthusiastically and widely, with many innovations and many outstanding activities, especially emulation in strategic consultation with the Party and State on military and defense, in performing training tasks, being ready to fight, preventing and combating all types of crimes, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, epidemics, search and rescue; in commemorating major holidays of the Party, the country, and the Army.
The political and ideological situation of the entire army's cadres, soldiers, militia and workers is stable. The officers and soldiers have strong courage, proactively overcome difficulties and hardships, and are ready to sacrifice for the Fatherland and the people.
