The conference assessed the results of the direction and administration of the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense on the implementation of military and defense tasks in May and the deployment of key tasks in June 2026.
Delegates reported, discussed, clarified the results of military and defense tasks, Party work activities, political work and pointed out the remaining shortcomings and limitations that need to be overcome in the coming time.
In May, the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission and leaders of the Ministry of National Defense led and directed the entire army to deploy synchronously and drastically, completing all tasks comprehensively.
The entire army maintains a strict combat readiness regime, firmly grasps and accurately forecasts the situation, promptly advises and effectively handles situations, not to be passive or surprised, firmly protects territorial sovereignty; coordinates to maintain security and order throughout the country.
In which, the control and prevention of illegal entry and exit is strengthened; maintaining the Navy, Border Guard, Coast Guard, and Militia Flotilla forces on duty, ready to fight in key sea areas; fighting against illegal, unreported and unregulated seafood exploitation.
Effectively implement civil defense tasks; promptly mobilize over 7,000 troops, militia and self-defense forces, 355 vehicles for disaster prevention and control, disaster recovery, search and rescue in localities. Seriously deploy national defense work at ministries, branches, and localities; militia and self-defense forces and reserve mobilization; education and training of national defense and security knowledge.

Concluding the conference, General Phan Van Giang praised leaders and commanders at all levels and officers and soldiers of the entire army for proactively overcoming difficulties and successfully completing tasks in May 2026.
