Quang Binh requests to reduce 70% of commune-level administrative units

Quang Binh - The Provincial People's Committee requires localities to develop a plan to reorganize and reduce at least 70% of commune-level administrative units.

On March 13, information from the People's Committee of Quang Binh province, has just issued a document requesting districts, towns and cities to urgently develop a plan to reorganize commune-level administrative units.

According to the direction, the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities need to develop a plan to arrange commune-level administrative units in the direction of reducing at least 70% of the total number of existing administrative units in the area.

In particular, the arrangement needs to ensure criteria on natural area and population size suitable for each region, while identifying central administrative units to create development momentum for the region.

The arrangement plan must also be accompanied by a detailed presentation, considering traditional historical factors, culture, ethnicity, religion, customs and practices, geographical location, natural conditions, community, security - order, and socio-economic development orientation. In addition, the People's Committee at the district level needs to propose the location of the headquarters of the People's Committee at the commune level in the future.

The Provincial People's Committee requests localities to urgently deploy, complete the plan and report to the Department of Home Affairs before March 16, 2025.
