At the 6th session of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council on the morning of July 28, a Resolution was passed to elect Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, as Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee with a rate of 64/64 votes in favor, reaching 100%.
Previously, on July 27, 2026, the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee just held a Conference to announce the Secretariat's decision on the transfer and appointment of Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam, Deputy Minister of Finance, to participate in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee for the term 2025-2030; orienting and introducing the election to hold the position of Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam, born in 1981, from Hung Yen province; Political theory qualification: Advanced; Professional qualification: Master of Economics.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam has held many positions at the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Finance: Deputy Director of the Business Registration Management Department; Chief of the Ministry Office; Director of the Department of Local and Territorial Economy; Director of the Department of National Economic Summary; Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment. From March 2025 to July 2026, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam will be Deputy Minister of Finance, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance, term 2020-2025.

Former Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee - Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang was previously transferred and assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee. Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu presented the decision to transfer and assign Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang on July 23. Mr. Giang received a new task after two years in the position of Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee.
